GMCH is situated in sector 32, Chandigarh. The medical school is administered by Punjab University. It was established in 1991 and has a 36 acres campus. The Medical College has an intake of 100 students towards the MBBS degree. It also offers Post-Graduate courses (MD/MS) in a number of medical and surgical subjects. It ranks on number 17 position in the list of medical colleges in India.
It provides MBBS, BDS and BHMS courses and the admission procedure is based on the score of the AIIMS test result. Their mission is: to fulfill the glaring deficiency of an undergraduate Medical College in the Union Territory of Chandigarh which offers the best educational facilities in all other fields.
