Comprising of two gardens, the botanical gardens spread over Chandigarh and is adorned by a huge variety of systematically arranged plant species that are both exotic and evergreen. One is placed in the Punjab University campus and the other is positioned in between the Sukhna Lake and Rock Garden in Sector-1. If you are great fan of science, botanical gardens are worth visiting. Their instant beauty is bound to leave you mesmerised. The garden consists of 15 Botanical Sections. The primary aim of setting up of Botanical Garden is to promote research, education, ex-situ conservation and to spread awareness about our floral heritage. In addition, the garden would help promote eco-tourism in Chandigarh. The scientific facts associated with the flowers are rather interesting.
