India’s first private, non-profit media school, Annapurna International have been emerging as the best school in the discipline of film-making. It was founded by the Akkineni family, including Akkineni Nagarjuna and Akkineni Nageswara Rao. The school is located in Hyderabad and offers courses in acting, directing, cinematography, editing, writing and producing. Some of the notable alumni of the school include actors and directors such as Farah Khan, Karan Johar, Hema Malini, Mani Ratnam, Kamal Haasan, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi and Aparna Sen.
