The Rock Garden of Chandigarh is a sculpture garden in Chandigarh, India, also known as Nek Chand's Rock Garden after its founder Nek Chand, a government official who started the garden secretly in his spare time in 1957. Today it is spread over an area of 64 acres . It is completely built of industrial and home waste and thrown-away items.
There are various sculptures made from broken glass bangles, china ware, discarded tubes etc across the whole garde. With breathtaking serene waterfalls. Playgrounds for kids, swings and several picnic areas complete the premises.
The nostalgia never seems to go down no wonder how many times you visit that place. The garden is maintained fairly well by the committee and even by the visitors. An open air theatre and a vast pavilion with a center stage are the other highlights of the rock Garden.
