Comparison Ford EcoSport vs Honda WRV vs Maruti Brezza vs Tata Nexon: Recently launched with a major facelift, the first ever SUV in India with a sub-4-meter, the Ford EcoSport can be availed at a price tag of INR 7.82 Lakhs for the base petrol variant. It has three engine options to choose from. The 1.5-litre diesel engine is capable of churning a maximum power of 99 Bhp and an utmost torque of 205 Nm while the 1.5-litre petrol engine offers a power coefficient of 120 Bhp and 150 Nm of torque. The engine is equipped with an optional dual-clutch automatic transmission. The 1.0-litre EcoBoost motor is the most powerful amongst the three capable of offering a maximum power of 123 bhp.

In terms of gearbox options, the Honda WRV lacks an automatic gearbox while Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport get both the automatic and manual gearbox options for their variants. Coming to the fuel efficiency, the Ford Ecosport has a claimed fuel efficiency of 17 kmpl for the petrol variant while the Honda WRV offers something near about 18 kmpl for the petrol option. The Maruti Vitara Brezza and Tata Nexon claim a mileage around 24.3 kmpl and 21.5 kmpl respectively.

In terms of safety, the Ford EcoSport comes equipped with 6 airbags for the top spec variant while there are no airbags offered for the base variant though ABS is standard with all. The top spec variant can also be availed with Ford’s Emergency Assistance system and emergency calling options. The Maruti Vitara Brezza gets a host of safety options for the automatic variants including the dual airbags, ISOFIX child restraint system, high-speed warnings and force limiters.
