Bhrigu lake is located near Rohtang pass and is only reachable by trekking from Rohtang pass or from the village Gulabo. It is situated at an elevation of about 4,235 mt above the sea level. The lake is a sight to behold. The half frozen lake can take your breath away with its divine beauty. According to the locals, the lake’s water is considered sacred. The Hindu saint, Bhrigu used to held penance at the ends of this lake. The lake is a perfect spot for adventure trekking and camping in its beautiful ambience nearby.

Kareri Lake, is located in the district of Kangra, himachal Pradesh and is located at an altitude of 2934 mt above the sea level. The lake is a sight to behold with its half frozen beauty that it gets from the melting of snow from Dhauladhar ranges. The lake gets its name from the village situated nearby it called Kareri. It’s a perfect destination for a day of trekking that starts from the Dhauladhar Mountains. The lake’s ambience is perfect for camping with friends or family and enjoying the occasional fishing. Maharana Pratap Sagar is located in the town Pragpur and is one of the most famous man made lakes in Himachal. The lake is situated at the elevation of 450 mt across the Beas river. It is named in the honour of indian warrior, Maharana Pratap. The lake was discovered in 1975 and soon was turned into a wildlife sanctuary as a home to some major migratory and endangered birds. The lake scenic beauty is bound to leave you mesmerised. It’s a perfect weekend getaway for any wildlife enthusiasts. It’s also famous as a trekking spot among the locals.  

Chandratal is the lake known for its sheer beauty and peaceful ambience. The lake looks like a beautiful canvas painting. It’s a perfect spot trekking and camping. The lake got it’s name from the crescent moon, the way the lake looks like. The most surprising thing about this lake is that there is no visible source of this lake but there is a visible outlet, indicating that water to this lake comes from underground. Manimahesh Lake is considered as the sacred lake and is situated at the height of 4080 mt above the sea level near Manimahesh Kailash Peak in the  Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas. The lake is famous for its pilgrimage trek called as “Manimahesh Yatra” that starts in August. It is situated close to the Holy Lake Mansarovar in Tibet. According to popular legends it is believed that Lord Shiva created this lake after he married Goddess Parvati, who is worshiped as Mata Girja here. It is visited by a lot of devotees who come here to seek the blessing of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.

Nako Lake is one of the beautiful lakes situated in a small village of the same name in the Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh. A unique feature about this lake is that it remains covered with snow for most part of the year. The lake is surrounded by four temples and there is also a footprint here that is believed to have been of Lord Padmasambhava. Travellers coming to this lake can relax in its tranquillity and also visit the temples around here.

The lake is known to be named in significance of the famous legend where Hindu Sage Jamdagni in a fit of anger ordered his son Parsurama to kill Renuka, his wife and being an obedient son, he did what was asked. Realising their horrible mistake, the father son duo dis created a lake that resembled sleeping Renuka. The lake is famous for its leisure activities like boating and all. Also known as Tso Pema Lotus lake, the Rewalsar lake. As per the legend, it was from this small town of Rewalsar that Guru Padmasambhava flew to Tibet and spread Mahayana Buddhism in Tibet. The lake is famous among all the buddhist monks and several visit during the year. The lake is supposed to have some links with the China through a long tunnel. The lake is surrounded by variety of market places and other cultural restaurants adding to its beauty.
